Let’s start preparing this tasty tuna sauce by draining the tuna, washing the capers, squeezing the lemon juice and setting aside a few spoons of mayonnaise.

We continue blending the tuna with the anchovies, capers, lemon and the spoons of mayonnaise set aside.

Then add the mixture to the rest of the mayonnaise, season with pepper and mix thoroughly.

Finally, let the tuna sauce rest for about ten minutes before serving it.

Useful tips for tuna sauce

If the tuna sauce is too firm, you can stretch it in two ways.

If you will use the sauce to accompany cold meats or vegetables, it is better to add a little meat or vegetable broth; if you use it to accompany boiled fish, it is better to add some fish stock.

If you want to prepare veal with tuna sauce, we advise you to boil about 600 g of veal with carrot, celery, onion, parsley and bay leaf and absolutely slice it only when it has cooled down.

We also recommend that you be careful not to overdo the pepper. Better, if anything, to add it in a couple of times. This spice, in fact, can be irritating to the stomach and intestines.
