Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and cook the onions for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.<\/p>\n<p>Next, add the tomato puree, ground ginger, hot paprika, finely chopped cloves, flour, red wine vinegar, sugar, and a pinch of salt.<br \/>\nSeason the mixture with a little freshly grated nutmeg and mix thoroughly.<\/p>\n<p>Continue cooking the sauce for about 1 hour and 20 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.<br \/>\nOnce the sauce is cooked, blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth and uniform consistency.
